A grateful farewell

After 15 years as general manager of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives, I have decided to retire and begin my next chapter. As I reflect on my time in this role, I can’t help but feel thankful and blessed for the opportunity to support and work alongside so many dedicated individuals, all committed to promoting the cooperative program and serving its membership.

Throughout my career, I have witnessed many changes in energy policy and technology that continue to reshape the industry. As long as we stay true to our purpose, engage with policymakers and act in the best interest of our membership, we will succeed in delivering reliable, safe and affordable power. I am proud to have been part of a movement that also emphasizes support for youth programs, schools and rural communities — local cooperatives meeting local needs.

I leave this role feeling optimistic about the future of cooperatives. I am confident that my successor, Nicki Fuller, will be a strong advocate in furthering the program. She is no stranger to the cooperative mission and will hit the ground running.

I will never forget the great people who keep the lights on. And as a co-op member myself, I intend to stay engaged in grassroots programs. I encourage you to do the same.

It has been my pleasure to serve, and I know great things lie ahead. My best to each and every one of you.
